DELTA MODULE 2

Book now

Become a Cambridge DELTA Certified Teacher today!

Take the next step and become an Advanced Practitioner.

DELTA is a globally-recognised, advanced qualification for experienced English language teachers – accredited by Cambridge English, part of the University of Cambridge. It takes serious dedication, passion and a commitment to continued professional development, which is why the qualification is so highly-regarded across the world and attractive to educational institutions in the field.

There are three modules you must pass to be DELTA-qualified. Module 2 concentrates on developing your professional practice

Although the course is part-time, it is very intensive. You should ensure that you have the strength, space and mental capacity to take on the challenge. For Module 2, it is essential that you are teaching as your teaching practice will be assessed and this practical element will take place in your own place of work with your own students.

Important: Due to the ongoing restrictions caused by COVID-19, it is now possible to take Module 2 by teaching online or via remote assessment of face-to-face classes – it is not currently necessary to be teaching face-to-face to complete Module 2.

DEVELOPING YOUR TEACHER PRACTICE PORTFOLIO

Develop your practice.

Our highly-experienced Delta tutors will support you as you develop your Teaching Practice Portfolio. You will have a series of online study guides and discussions on key topics, that will guide you through theoretical and practical issues that can be related to your own lesson planning and teaching.

You will have constant access to your dedicated Bell Online Personal Tutor (OPT) to provide detailed 1-to-1 feedback on your written assignments.

4 x Language Skills/Systems Assignments (LSAs)
Each includes a background essay (2000-2500 words) and the planning, teaching and evaluation of an observed lesson related to the chosen area. The final lesson will be externally assessed by a Cambridge English registered external assessor

Professional Development Assignment (PDA)
A Reflection and Action essay – including one diagnostic lesson observation (2000-2500 words), and an Experimental Practice essay (2000-2500 words)

OBSERVED AND ASSESSED TEACHING

Nominate a Regional Delta tutor.

For Module 2 (Online), you must nominate a local trainer who can observe and assess your teaching practice. It is critical that you identify a suitable regional Delta tutor (RDT), as you will not be able to undertake the module otherwise. You can nominate:

  • An already approved experienced Cambridge Delta tutor

  • Someone who is already a Bell-accredited RDT

  • Someone who has the appropriate experience and skills to be able to become a Bell-accredited RDT

If you can not find a suitable RDT, you may want to consider our Module 2 (Face-to-face) course at Bell Cambridge, where an RDT is provided.
